Halloween Events around Boise
Spooktacular Evenings at the Zoo
On select evenings in October, Zoo Boise hosts their Spooktacular, a merry-not-scary fun-fest for the whole family! The zoo will be lit up and feature Halloween-themed displays, activities, special entertainment, and fun animal encounters for the whole family!
Boo at the Zoo
Zoo Boise throws one of the best Halloween events in town, with costumed characters handing out candy, costume contests for all ages, games, face painting, and more! This event is free to Friends of Zoo Boise members, $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $7 for kids (infants 2 and under are free).
Villains in the Village
The Village at Meridian hosts their annual Villains in the Village event for family fun that includes a lair of villains; activities like face painting and balloon twisting, and an appearance this year by nationally recognized animal expert Corbin Maxey followed by a performance by Treasure Valley Children’s Theater. This year’s event is Monday, October 24th.
Halloween Carnival
Join the downtown Boise YMCA for their annual Halloween carnival, featuring face painting, a cakewalk, photo booth, bounce house, pumpkin decorating, games, and more! Costumes are encouraged at this free, family-friendly event.
YMCA Halloween Monster Mile & Freaky 5k
This event on October 30th for children ages 4+ is a great way to get outside while celebrating Halloween! Choose either the Monster Mile or the Freaky 5k course to run in costume! Each participant receives a glow-in-the-dark t-shirt and a medal.

Lowe Family Farmstead Corn Maze & Pumpkin Festival
From September 9 through October 29th, visit Lowe Family Farmstead Corn Maze & Pumpkin Festival–Idaho’s “original corn maze.” There are a number of family-friendly activities like wandering the corn maze, hayrides, a ropes course, pony rides, and so much more!
Family Fun Fall Festival
The second annual Family Fun Fall Festival will take on Saturday, September 17th from 9am–3pm at Center at the Park/Meridian Senior Center. There will be door prizes, family friendly games, a pumpkin carving contest, a food truck rally, kids crafts, and over 30 craft and vendor booths to kickstart your holiday shopping!

Fall Harvest at the Botanical Garden
Every Saturday throughout October, the Idaho Botanical Garden celebrates fall with family-friendly fun! Each week has different experiences in addition to different vendors, food trucks, live music, and the Scarecrow Stroll, where you can see scarecrows designed by different members of the community.
See Spot Walk
After going virtual for last year’s event, See Spot Walk is back in person for its 30th anniversary at Julia Davis Park on October 1st at 10 am. This dog walk and festival is the perfect way to get out of the house and enjoy the beautiful changing leaves, pick up dog-related goodies from vendors, enjoy food and drinks, and do a 1k dog walk. Each registration comes with a See Spot Walk t-shirt.
Apple Picking
What is more iconic in the fall than apple picking at a local orchard. Thanks to Idaho's fabulous soil quality, the Treasure Valley is surrounded by several farms with some of the juiciest, most delicious, and crispy apples on the market today.
